Manan and Surekha Trivedi
Growing up in the Reading area was great during the holidays. Memories from this time of year certainly helped to shape me and probably are a large part of the reason why service to my community has been such an important part of my life as an adult.
It of course started with my own family. I remember each year when my father would come home from work at the Red Cheek apple juice factory with a coupon they would give him for a free turkey. My mom and dad always believed in sharing with others, so as our tradition would have it, we would head down to the old IGA supermarket on Fleetwood-Blandon Road, pick up the turkey and then visit a family in the Reading area who needed it more than we did... and offer it as a gift to them for their Christmas dinner. We may not have had a lot when I was a kid, but my parents believed in sharing what we could. It was a powerful lesson that I learned.
I have tried my best to keep up with what my family and this community have taught me. And in the interest of being able to share a little something good with you this holiday season, Surekha and I have some good news:
We are excited to announce that we are expecting our first child.
Surekha is due in April, so the timing right before a May primary will make things fun, but I am confident that with friends and family like you, we're going to be successful with everything in the end.
So from our ever-expanding family to you and yours, we wish you nothing but the best during the holidays and we look forward to working with you on building a better future for our congressional district and our nation.
Sincerely,
Manan and Surekha
